What's in the Other inbox?

And these messages, even though they are few and far between, may sometimes be very important ones.

Social media network mogul Facebook is eliminating its Other Folder for messages in lieu of a new feature.

"We truly want to make Messenger the place where you can find and privately connect with anyone you need to reach, but only be reached by the people you want to communicate with", Mr Marcus.

The requests only apply to people that users aren't already friends with on Facebook and don't already have their contact details. when he discovered that he could message Facebook Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg and bypass his "other" folder for a premium price tag of $100 United States dollars.

The dead "other" folder contains messages from people not connected to your account, or not your friends.

"If you're friends on Facebook, if you have each other's contact info in your phone and have these synced, or if you have an existing open thread, the new messages from that sender will be routed to your inbox", he . There will not be an Other folder but unknown people will still be able to send you messages.

The only drawback to the Message Requests feature is that it's possible that you could miss a message from someone you do know by the note landing in this pile. Users will have the option of ignoring or accepting these Message requests, without the sender finding out.

The feature is said to be rolling out in the USA at the moment, and will reach other territories soon.
