Police called after men dressed as traffic cones block road

Police described the incident as "very interesting".

A few taxi drivers in Glasgow were less than impressed by the stunt however, as it prevented them from leaving the street to continue with their work.

He said: "The taxi driver was fuming".

Gas engineer Chris Bendoris, 24, was at the heart of the prank. His metre still must have been running.

Cars, buses and taxis were forced to wait as 11 friends donned giant orange and white traffic cone outfits and ran around the city centre on Saturday night.

'One of the lads was trying to climb on to the top of the Duke of Wellington statue but the police weren't too happy about that.

"The guys have always dressed up as a group, one year they all dressed up as Shrek, but this year was the best by far".

"Everywhere we went people would stop to take of us, there were a bunch of people videoing us on the train into Glasgow". Majority were up for a bit of a laugh.

Chris Halliday, 26, a soldier from Glasgow, shared the video on social media. "I didn't actually see the police I was waiting for a taxi but I saw it and it made me laugh".

"The reaction has been insane".

It was also all caught on video, even up to the time when police showed up to end the early-morning shenanigans.

Police uploaded with details of the weird situation on Twitter where it has been retweeted hundreds of times.
