Banksy hits the 'Jungle' at Calais with incredible Steve Jobs artwork

With the Mediterranean refugee crisis as much a hot-button issue in Europe as it is in the USA, famous graffiti artist Banksy has used Steve Jobs as a subtle reminder of the benefits immigrants can offer to a country.

Banksy put up a new image at the Calais refugee camp known as "the Jungle", the Guardian reports. Banksy sprayed an image of Steve Jobs as a Syrian migrant with a satchel over his shoulder and a vintage Macintosh computer in tow.

A statement on Banksy's website says that so far, "12 dwellings, a community area and a children's playpark" have been completed.

The tech guru was the biological son of Syrian national Abdul Fattah Jandali, a current US resident and vice chairman of the Boomtown Casino and Hotel in Reno, Nevada, . And why would Banksy paint Steve Jobs in a refugee camp, you might ask? However, Jobs never had a relationship with his biological father, although he did believe that he met him once when he ate at a restaurant in Sacramento that Jandali managed.

Banksy shares another image of his Steve Jobs painting online.

Jobs's parents were Syrian refugees, though he was adopted by an American family at an early age, and he didn't identify as Syrian.

Trina Merry (previously) has created "Lost in Wonder", a series of trompe l'oeil in which painted models are posed against numerous world's great wonders, vanishing into the background.

The tweet continued an ongoing debate as to whether the US should accept more refugees.

Some praise the Jobs comparison, while others point out its weakness. "Power remains in the message", another replied.
