Jamie Parker to play adult Harry Potter in stage show

J.K. Rowling applauded the casting of the black actress , reminding fans that Hermione's ethnicity was never specified in the books.

Though Rowling even co-signed on the lineup, she's "so excited with the choice of casting", some so-called fans are pissed that Hermione is a woman of color. White skin was by no means specified.

The best-selling author of the Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling, was fast to shut down all negative comments.

The biggest surprise about this casting announcement is Noma Dumezweni-a black actress-will be playing Hermione, a decision that the Harry Potter fandom has apparently met with uproarious approval.

Dumezweni is a Laurence Olivier Award victor who has acted in numerous productions of Shakespeare plays as well as the shows Doctor Who and EastEnders.

The range of emotions online about the play's race switch from the film version, in which white Emma Watson portrayed Hermione, was vast.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe recently discussed his career choices, which have seen him move away from blockbusters to play characters including poet Allen Ginsberg, and Igor in this year's Victor Frankenstein.

The story picks up when a middle-aged Harry Potter is an "overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children", according to the Pottermore site.

The eighth instalment is described as the next chapter in Harry's story and will see the famed boy wizard, played by History Boys star Jamie Parker, while Paul Thornley will take on the role of Ron Weasley. "Rowling loves black Hermione", she on December 21.

The play - one play, presented in two parts - will begin performances in London on June 7, 2016.
