Assemblyman calls out governor for scalping Series tickets

The New York Mets are back in the World Series for the first time since 2000, and Mets fans are not pleased with Governor Andrew Cuomo scalping tickets for the upcoming games against the Kansas City Royals.

Getting Billy Joel without a doubt will have the New York crowd rolling as they prepare to defend their home turf against Kansas City. Trying to catch a World Series game at Citi Field will cost you a pretty penny, and possibly your rent check to boot.

Susan Lerner, the head of New York Common Cause said the fundraising practice is legal, but it looks bad for the campaign.

The campaign allegedly bought an unspecified amount of tickets at face value from the Mets, but staff have not released just how much it paid for the directly purchased tickets.

Game 1: $544.34; Game 2: $504.90; Game 3: $1,033.93; Game 4: $1,192.83; Game 5: $1,645.43; Game 6: $878.87; Game 7: $873.

While the exact location of the seats is unknown, the face value of World Series tickets starts at $125. He decried the ticket scalpers as "unscrupulous operators" for selling the Shakespeare in the Park tickets "on Craigslist for $100 or more per pair" - a far lower price than the one at which Cuomo is now auctioning off Mets tickets for his campaign. The event includes a 90-minute pre-game reception with the governor.
