Temple will host College GameDay in Philadelphia this week before playing

No. 21 Temple, 7-0, hosts Notre Dame at a sold-out Lincoln Financial Field in what figures to be one of the biggest matchups in school history. In the only top-25 matchup of the week, No. 9 Notre Dame travels to the City of Brotherly Love for an easy victory over Temple.

GameDay will be live from Independence Hall in Philadelphia on Saturday morning. Yes, Temple, which has never been in GameDay's spotlight before, has a chance to enter November unbeaten for the first time since 1974, and mighty Notre Dame standing in the way is a compelling storyline.

Next Saturday, for the first time, it could have flown in Pullman, as ESPN broadcasted from the site of a Washington State game for just the third time in the show's existence. While they aren't nowadays part of the AP Poll, HC Mike Leach's squad has recovered from an embarrassing 24-17 loss to Portland State in their season-opener and presently sits at 5-2 on the season.

Led by All-American candidate Tyler Matakevich, Temple is off to its record start mostly because of its excellent defense, which is ranked 14th nationally in yards per game and eighth in points per game.

Since 2003, The Ol' Crimson Booster Club has waved a WSU flag at 171 College GameDay shows, with the notion the crew would eventual visit the Palouse.

College GameDay has been a jinx for teams hosting ESPN's wildly popular college football pregame show as the Michigan Wolverines lost in improbable fashion two weeks ago and the previously undefeated James Madison Dukes were upset this week by the Richmond Spiders.
