Michelle Dockery's fiance, John Dineen, dies at 34

The Downton Abbey star's fiance, John Dineen died on December 13 after a devastating battle with a rare form of cancer.

John Dineen was just 34 years old.

Poor Downton Abbey actress, Michelle Dockery, was forced to cancel her United States tour last week to fly home to be by the side of her fiancé, John Dineen, who sadly passed away a few days later. The couple had tried keeping their relationship as private as possible until the media found out that Michelle had a "special man" in her life named John in September, 2014. Prior to coming to Ireland, Dockery was involved with promoting her show along with her co-stars.

Dineen was a senior director at London-based FTI consulting firm.

A spokeswoman for Dockery appealed for privacy for Mr Dineen's family as funeral arrangements are made.

John's family and friends are to said be laying him to rest today in Cork. The local parish priest commented: "It is a sensitive time for the family".
