Coach Pete Carroll said he didn't know yet whether the procedure would allow Bennett to play in Sunday's regular season finale at Arizona, or whether Bennett would be rested for the playoffs.

"He's really day to day right now", Carroll told reporters.

Lynch had abdominal surgery on November 25 in Philadelphia and has not played with the Seahawks since November 15.

Carroll said Lynch, who is rehabbing in the San Francisco Bay Area, should be back for the playoffs. Carroll said Monday that Lynch had a chance to return to practice on Wednesday, but instead, he remained near his home in Oakland, Calif.to work out with his own trainers.

"There's still some discomfort for him and he's trying to establish the consistency in coming back the next day in showing that he can get back out there, which he's doing". "In a couple of days from now if he can just build on the confidence that he's acquired in the last week here, he'll be able to run through everybody confidently".

The last time Lynch played this season was in Week 10 and Thomas Rawls has been more than a worthy substitute before suffering an ankle injury in Week 14.
