Slight chance of snow in forecast for LeFlore County

In northwest IN, a Winter Storm Warning will go into effect at 3 p.m. until noon Sunday. Counties not in this warning are in a Winter Weather Advisory.

Saturday's high is expected to be about 39 degrees, dropping to about 17 degrees overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Chicago area in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

For the far eastern reaches of the News 4 viewing area, expect rain to mix with sleet and snow by late afternoon and then change to all snow during the early evening.

Snow, possibly mixed with rain, is forecast for Saturday, with an accumulation of about 1 to 3 inches expected. Lighter snow is expected in the western and northern suburbs, with DuPage County potentially seeing just over 2 inches. Another 1 to 3 inches could accumulate overnight.

If you have plans to travel tonight into Sunday morning, expect poor road conditions and reduced visibility.

Forecasters expect freezing fog to stick around Sunday night, with a small possibility of freeing rain during the Monday morning commute. Use caution when traveling, particularly in open areas.

Snow will continue to blow Sunday, but there is only a 10 percent chance of additional accumulation. Highs drop to the teens and wind chill readings will be in the single digits.
