CES 2016 Las Vegas preview: From drones, cars, robots to intelligent jewelries

The company will apparently begin large-scale production of the vehicle by 2020 at a factory located in Las Vegas. 2 million square feet from the previous year.

From drones, and robots to jewellery, home equipment and TVs, the brand new know-how on show at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show guarantees to be smarter and friendlier than ever. The sound bars will include a new X-Boom system and Google Cast while the projectors that will be shown have "triple wire-free connectivity", Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. South Korea is bringing Unify - a drone that can navigate indoor environments due its 3D recognition technology.

Of course, there's going to be other stuff, too. CES is all about introducing some of the latest and greatest technologies, after all.

There is no confirmation yet as to the exact style of the auto and it's quite possible that it could turn out to be a more US-friendly SUV or crossover concept but we do know that it's both electric and potentially revolutionary in that respect. Look for it to really show its face at CES, though, as OEMs start to connect everything. In fact, we'd be lucky to see any flagship phones taking a bow at CES 2016.

"Intel's innovations, which power tablets, wearables, PCs, smart cars, homes, appliances, cloud computing and so much more are serving as the foundation for the burgeoning Internet of Things", said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association, which sponsors the event.

This year, we expect to see a lot of news from the usual CES suspects: TV makers, automotive companies, wearable device hawkers, and even VR companies.

Take the BMW AirTouch concept, which will be on display at CES. Audi has made splashes in the past, and this year may be no exception. That's just a taste, though. CES kicks off next week - a sprawling consumer technology showcase that seems to extend to more Las Vegas venues every year. Faraday Future apparently has a huge announcement on this front, so we'll keep a particularly close on that firm. AT&T will likely play in a few smart city "areas", including lighting, parking and transportation, per the report.

Oculus had a big demo booth at the show a year ago, following an impressive showing in 2013, and we expect to hear more on the Rift in addition to more information on some of the features, software and games that will launch with it.

The PlayStation VR is a long anticipated gadget and it is expected to hit the market soon and thus it is likely that Sony might decide to reveal the device at the event. We haven't had a chance to put that on our heads yet, so we hope to have a chance to see how it stacks up during the show.

There are some radical rumours suggesting that Sony will announced a total of five Xperia Z6 models as early as CES 2016.

A Google-Ford partnership, that combines Google's software with Ford's vehicles, has always been one of the more popular rumors in various tech publications over the last several months.
