Joey Logano calls Matt Kenseth a 'coward' and 'chicken' after wreck

Look no further than the positive impact it's already making on Texas Motor Speedway, site of the Chase's next race, the AAA Texas 500.

Gordon, who has won four titles and is retiring after this season, edged Jamie McMurray to win as the race ended in near darkness. But he was summoned to the NASCAR hauler after the race for a meeting that his crew chief and auto owner Joe Gibbs attended. While much has been rightly made of Jeff Gordon's impending retirement, the reality is Kenseth is just one year younger and doesn't have many years of contention left.

Instead, Logano finished 37th and will likely need to win one of the next two races at Texas or Phoenix in order to advance to the championship round. But now, one of those races will be possibly the one that gives him a championship.

A week ago Kenseth derided the Chase knockout format following a controversial finish at Talladega, saying it encourages drivers to play games and not race.

"I don't know what it feels like to be a rock star, but that's as close as it can get", he said. Going into the turn, Kenseth floored the throttle, driving Logano into the wall and out of the race. We can't control anybody else's thinking or what's in their mind.

"It was a record night for us, and this is not the time when you usually sell a bunch of tickets", Gossage said. That's what we've been focused on all week. "We were racing for the win, and he blocks you a few times, and we raced hard, and he blocked me and spun out".

At the time, Edwards drove a Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. It's ready. They are in this to win.

"We got run into there, coming out of the pits and I couldn't really tell how bad it was", Harvick said.

"Everybody wants to win, and it's cool to be part of a group like that". They'll do what it takes and they work hard. We're in the hunt. I didn't blow a right-front tire like he did today, but I can relate. I'm not really sure why. "This is going to be fun, this is what it's about".

It was a sweet victory for American professional stock auto racing driver Jeff Gordon on Sunday at the Martinsville Speedway as this leads him to compete for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship. Now, "I love that we just keep proving them wrong and finding a way to move on", Gordon said with a smile. "I could relate to the frustration getting the best of you". "Everything's changed since I won a championship".

Do not think for a minute that Kenseth has forgotten that moment. "I went by and I thought, 'Wow!" Many fans joined those who had been seated on the frontstretch and provided Gordon with a thunderous ovation, eventually chanting Gor-don, Gor-don.

The sanctioning body will make a decision on whether or not Kenseth will be penalized on Tuesday, but Senior Vice-President Steve O'Donnell says in his eyes there is a difference between this wreck and Kansas.
