Skype features added to MS Office - see, talk and walk

Last month, Microsoft delivered Skype in-app integration with Office 2016 on the desktop.

Price for the new E5 will still not be released yet according to a spokesperson interviewed by ZDNet but the price will of course be announced once it comes out on December 1.

The Office 365 E5 plan will now be available for Microsoft enterprise users on December 1.

The new update to Skype also provides audio and video integration for online versions of MS Word, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint. The new Office Offline extension is free for all the users of Google Chrome and once installed, it will be free to open up OneDrive, OneNote, Sway as well as common documents such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Lastly PowerPoint Online received "performance improvements". The application support Android Enterprise and Android M; therefore, features show up each user accordingly. In addition, Office Online documents will have direct links to carry out instant messaging conversations or video calling sessions.

All variants have reduced the size by 50%, and have integrated the Office sign-in feature to allow the program to integrate with users' work/home Office suite.

Get the Office apps on Android, iOS or Windows devices. For instance, they have support for Android "Marshmallow", as well as for Android for Work, which is a scheme for separating work and personal apps.

In addition, Microsoft is making it easier to access its Web Office Suite with the help of a new Chrome extension for Office which now allows the users to open a variety of Office documents right within Chrome, whether they are stored in OneDrive or their computer. Presenter View lets presenters preview a slide as well as their notes without showing those materials to the audience.

As far as Mac is concerned, the Visual Basic Editor capabilities have been stepped up, but with respect to the feedback provided by customers.

Office 2016 for Mac now have the ability to Add Modules from within the Project Viewer, Add Library References using a Dialog and use shortcut keys for debugging. There's also a new conditional, called "MAC_Office_Version".

Microsoft also added two new commands to the Visual Basic object model for Mac.
