Android Marshmallow for Galaxy Note 5 delayed?

The latest smartphones from Samsung haven't received the Android 6.0 update yet, but the Galaxy S3 now has access to it.

Samsung will be sending out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon to a few of its phones, the first ones being the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. If Samsung will keep the pattern of releasing updates like in the past, the devices will jump over the base Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, directly to the latest Android OS version that will be available then (currently, it is Android 6.0.1).

In terms of device list, however, the document remains unchanged - most of the newer Samsung Galaxy iterations will be getting the Android Marshmallow update earlier than the older-gen and previous flagship lineups.

If you happen to fulfill the requirements, you need to download the Galaxy Care app from the Play Store and follow the instructions. Granted, Samsung's most popular smartphone in history did not receive an official Android 6.0 Marshmallow release, which would be impossible given that Samsung stopped supporting the Galaxy S3 prior to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The CM 13 is a custom ROM nightly build, which means it is not a stable.

Samsung's goal with the test is to see how users get along with the upgrade in real world usage, which should hopefully translate to a good user experience and cut down on any initial bugs that might spawn. It is run by a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU coupled with 1GB of RAM.
